Kilmainham Gaol is one of the largest unoccupied jails in Europe.

Kilmainham Gaol was opened in 1796 and then closed in 1924 but was preserved as a national monument in the 1960s.

Kilmainham Gaol offers guided tours only. The tour lasts 60 minutes and at the end of the tour there is a museum where you can explore more of the gaols history.
