We have put together a 48-hour Dublin city itinerary to make sure you make the most of your next city break to Dublin.
Day 1
On the first day of your Dublin break, we suggest you get your bearings and learn a bit about Irish history.
Your first stop is The Molly Malone Statue which is just a 5-minute walk from The Grafton Hotel. The Molly Malone statue has graced the cover of a million postcards and the song of the same name has been bellowed out for hundreds of years.
Your second stop is at Trinity College Dublin where you can stroll through the amazing campus grounds. Trinity was founded by Queen Elizabeth 1 of England in 1592. Also take in a visit to The Book of Kells, Ireland’s oldest manuscript located within the grounds of Trinity College.

Your third stop is Dublin Castle. It was built in the 13th century and like many castles in Ireland, it underwent numerous renovations and expansions. Those with an eye for architecture will notice hints of Georgian and Gothic styles during their visit.
Your fourth spot will be Brazen Head. Dublin's oldest pub and is located just a 15-minute walk from The Grafton Hotel. Dating back to the 12th century, you'll feel like you've stepped back in time when you stroll through its doors. Stop here for a bite to eat and a well-deserved pint of Guinness.
Your final stop of the day is to Ireland's top attraction The Guinness Storehouse. Located in St. James Gate and has been home to Guinness since 1837. Here you can take their tasting experience to gain a new appreciation for the art of brewing. There is also a rooftop bar with magnificent views of the city! Booking is essential.
End your day with a walk back along Grafton Street, Dublin’s famous shopping street. This street is home to many famous Irish stores and is popular with street musicians and buskers.
Day 2
A day dedicated to adventure and seeing all the main sights in the city. Ride the hop-on hop-off bus tour of Dublin, it has over 40 stops and two different routes so you can get to almost anywhere in the city.
The bus stops at the famous Kilmainham Gaol, which is well worth a visit on a Dublin city break. It was home to many prisoners who were significant in history as being a part of the battle with Britain for Independence.
For people that are interested in Irish sport, a visit to Croke Park Ireland's national hurling and Gaelic football home is a must. The stadium tour is where you can visit the dressing rooms, walk on the field and visit the press boxes.
End your day with a visit to Dublin's most popular whiskey distillery, The Jameson Distillery. Here you will learn about the history of Jameson and have the option to join various Jameson Distillery tours.
For those still looking for more fun, stop by the iconic Temple Bar. With cobbled streets, pubs and boutiques, you will have plenty to do here!
